Ahhh, The age old dispute of morning showers vs night showers has been raging on for years. Is it really better to shower at night or in the morning? Pro morning showerers tend to support because it is said they feel more refreshed and alert to start their day. While those of pro night argue that it helps rinse off the dirt from the day, and helps you relax to prepare for bed. Both being a solid point, but which one is healthier? Board-certified infectious disease physician, Amesh A. Adalja M.D explains that “there’s no major difference or evidence that either is better”, but it does depend on what you are doing during your day, rather than when you shower. Adalja points out “ When you shower, you’re just taking off visible dirt and making yourself smell better… You're not taking off all bacteria and germs, and most you wouldn't want to off anyway.”
Dermatologist, Gary Goldenberg, M.D, suggest that for people who have active lifestyles or sweat more often, he recommends showering at night. While those who tend to heavily sweat while sleeping should shower in the morning. Saying “ The point is to remove sweat, bacteria, and pollutants from the skin.” Although studies have shown that those who shower at night are more relaxed during the night when compared to those who did not shower before bed. Although this is not a definite answer to the question of the century, in all reality, it does not really matter when you shower.. As long as you just shower. We don't wanna smell that:)
