Oprah's Comment On the Deaths of Kate Spade and Anthony Bourdain is Under Fire

According to our beloved Oprah, “In an interview with Extra at the premiere of her new TV show, she told an interviewer, “Every death is here to teach us how to live better. Every death is here to remind us of our own life and the value of it.”

This statement is under fire. I would  assume people are concerned with insensitivity. But in my opinion she is saying what we are all thinking. Man, I have got to get myself, my mind, my family and thoughts on a better path.

I’m sure we all heard the news and were completely let down. I howeverdifferent from   Oprah’s opinion think it’s not about us living better but checking in better on the living.

In other words, are we connecting and I mean really connecting with people we care about? Do we know how they are doing? Would something as sad as what happened to their loved ones happen in your watch? Meaning, would you be the last person to have talked with a person and believe that all was ok? Each person that gave final thoughts of Kate and Anthony said- oh they seemed ok.

So I think it’s our living charge to dig deeper, care more, and show compassion to people we call near and dear to our hearts.
