Rihanna is known for show-stopping performances, and at this year’s New York Fashion Week she did exactly that for her runway showcase of her Savage x Fenty lingerie line. Rihanna has been a champion of diversity throughout her numerous business ventures. From coming out with an astounding debut range of foundation shades in her Fenty Beautymakeup line, she promised her lingerie line to be available for all shapes and sizes of women as well. She materialized that promise and brought it to life with the Savage x Fenty runway, resulting in a colorful presentation, both in the models used and the execution of the show.
The showcase included models of all different body types and skin tones, as well as models who are expectant mothers with their baby bumps showing. Models walked, marched, and even danced their way down the runway, and in other locations along the extravagant set. You could see choreography being performed amongst the different structures sprinkled throughout, including botanical domes and terrariums, a glass greenhouse, and even a pool. All in all, it was highly dynamic, full of theatrics, with a lot of elements happening at the same time. Blink once, and you could miss something! Rihanna once again defied expectations and came up with a presentation starkly different from the usual runway you would see at Fashion Week. Watch the show here and let us know what you think.
